The sun is shining and the grass here in already green!!!
MLC this week was amazing. We had the privilege to listen to Elder Stacey. He was in our mission presidency and now just as of conference, he is the active 70 over here. It was so amazing because we were the first people he talked to after he had spent the whole weekend with every general authority living on the earth. You could just feel the spirit radiating out of him. He was nervous and excited and it was so cool that he was being real with us. He told us that we are on the apostles and prophets mind. That the missionaries and the youth were talked about so much. He talked to us about not getting distracted. It was funny because he told us why we need to be modest. He said "sisters you're hot!" it is just a distraction from our goal to be immodest. It was pretty funny hearing that from a general authority. Our goal is to be sealed in the temple. We can't be distracted from that. It was pretty cool and I left filled with the spirit.
Kimberly's baptism was very special this week. We saw Satan work hard right before it. We had to end up canceling it on Saturday last minute and pull it together Sunday after church but it worked out and she is now a member. I love that little girl and her love for the Savior. Children's testimonies help me so much. I am so grateful I have awesome little brothers who always share theirs! :)
This week we had some cool miracles with being here in Rochester near the Mayo clinic. Two different times this week we received calls from members in Utah who had told their non-member friends about the power of the priesthood and receiving a blessing. So we were able to go and administer to those people in the hospital. The coolest experience was last night. A lady from North Dakota and her husband and daughter were all there with her. She has ovarian cancer and she is going in today for lots of tests and surgery. The elders gave her a blessing and they asked for her full name. Her name is Sharon Ann. They went on and did the blessing and it was amazing and then after we were testifying to her. Sister Rawlins started to share her feelings and decided to share something special. Her grandma just died a few years ago from Ovation Cancer and her name is Sharon Ann as well. She felt as though her grandma were there like an angel to look out over this lady and we all could feel that too. It is so amazing how Heavenly Father works. He know us. He has a plan and if we listen to the spirit and let it guide we can be a comfort for those surrounding us. A few ward members and investigators we work with are going through lots of health challenges as well and it is amazing to me to see their positive outlook and the miracles happening in each of their different stories. We all have a story to tell. We all have experiences we need to live. The greatest part is we can chose how we want our story to end. We can chose our happiness and we can choose God.
This week Victor Lechner finally opened up a bit more. He received his confirming answer of the Book of Mormon a while back and ever since that his progress has gone down hill. Now he is trying to do everything in his power to prove that wrong. He is scared for what that answer entails. He says he now gets a bad feeling while reading the Book of Mormon. He says he doesn't trust in his feelings so we are going to help him learn to recognize the spirit. Its hard to see the opposition he is going through but we have faith he is going to come out on top!
Jose has been out of town all week and Bertha came down with a bad sickness. Misty is still struggling on hos pis and we are just there to serve and comfort this family in such a hard time. So there is not too much of an update with them. Prayers headed their way always helps.
I have been studying more intently from the Book of Mormon this week to try to deepen my conversion. It has been amazing what that has done as I have put myself in every story and asked my self questions the whole way through. I am reading in Alma right now about the conversion of the Lamanites. It is amazing their determination to follow God. Their covenant or promise with God. They never turn back, and I think that is so important. Keep moving Forward.
Things are great here out in Rochester. The field truly is white already to harvest and we are putting all of our heart might mind and strength into every day.
I love you all and you are in my prayers.
Make it a great week :):)
