It is pretty packed but I like it. I love being structured and it doesn't really give you time to miss the things back home too terribly bad!
First off! The scriptures are amazing! I love the book of Mormon more than ever! This week was very trying and I had the hardest day on my mission so far. I wont go into details but my district did not really have their priorities straight and there was a lot more goofing off than study. It is frustrating because I am here to serve the lord. So me and my companion tried to address it and it didn't get resolved. It was hard not having someone who truly loved me to care about what I was saying and to hug me haha. BUT I know that every time we go through a trail God will bless us if we press on till the end and we will learn a valuable lesson!!! I prayed to understand why I was given this challenge and to learn what God wanted me to learn from it. So I read through my scriptures and came upon 1 Nephi 2:18 I needed this because it told me I needed to pray for my district and just do my personal best to be an example to them. And then 1 Nephi 3:6-7 I needed to know not to murmur even if my district was and i needed to stay faithful. Also that God ALWAYS prepares a way for us no matter what and I also know whatever he asks he will always promise a blessing. There are hard days here but the Lord carries me through. And it is so awesome to receive so much personal revalation here!!
So some boys in our district Elders Garrison and Jones (elder jones is somehow related to caleb wolthuis) are our really good friends and they shared an awesome experience they had with me and mi companera. They gave a blessing to our first investigator because they felt so prompted to. And then they found out he was really just our teacher and they were all bumbed. So just this Saturday our teacher came up to them and thanked them for that blessing. He told them that his whole family was held at gun point that night and the gun was to his moms head. She told him Hermano Tapia to think of the peace he felt in the blessing earlier that day. He said that peace got him and his family through that terrible time. The priesthood is so amazing. It is so cool to see how the Lord works out here even though we aren't even in the field yet. The spirit really does guide me in everything and I know guided those elders to bless that family. Heavenly Father has a plan!!!!!!
One sad thing this week. Our BEST friends here in the CCM left for the mission field. We were so excited for them but sad to see them go, you really do grow godly love for those on your mission!
This Sunday we got to listen to a devotional from Elder Holland it was awesome. It was all about the spirit and El Libro de Mormon. I have had so many testimonies of that book this week! It is soooooo important. He said that he doesn't know anyone who has stayed converted who hasn't had an experience with the book of Mormon or began to have one. So I am challenging all of you. If you have not read the book of Mormon and got an answer do it NOW! Elder Holland promised when we read the book we WILL feel the spirit of the Lord. He also said something soo cool! He said missionaries are the biggest symbol of the church! Pressure! haha just kidding :) That makes me want to work harder and be a better example for good. But isn't that not so cool? Also he told us yes everyone expects a lot of you we almost expect perfection but we aren't apologizing because we have confidence in you....how cool.
GUESS WHAT! Me and my companion are the new missionary training sisters! So exciting we are going to do our best to be the best ones they have ever seen hahahaha! I know this is going to bring me to the lord!
GUESS WHAT ELSE! I gave my first talk in sacrament meeting on the apostasy! It went amazing and I felt the spirit so strong! I do every time I bear testimony in spanish. Everyone told me I did good so hopefully I did as good as I felt haha. What is crazy though is everyone has to prepare a talk every week and then our president gets up after the sacrament and announces who will be speaking! On the spot!
One last thing that happened.... So my district has found a new love for kickball. We played against another district and I was behind home giving all the elders a hard time. One Elder in particular I told him to make sure he kicks the ball and when he went to kick it he missed. It was really funny but when we were up next he got me out so we are even. Haha I also have improved my volleyball skills! Well somewhat. We play almost everyday for Gym and I love it!
P.s. good job PG CHEER!
Well, sorry this was so long but I just had so many awesome things happen I had to share! I love you all so much and am thinking of you daily. Always thankful for your prayers and support
Te amo ustedes muy mucho! Tienen un bueno semana!
